What Kind of Church Is This?
Bayside is a group of people who are seeking God’s guidance and direction both individually and corporately. We are a Christ-centered church affiliated with ConvergeWorldwide and the Great Lakes Baptist Conference. We are blessed to have a multi-generational congregation from a variety of backgrounds who strives to honor God in all that we say and do.
What Will the Service Be Like?
We hope that every attender at the Sunday worship service will connect with God, and one another, in a special way. You will be greeted at the door by people who are genuinely happy you’re here and able to assist you in getting settled. Prior to the start of the service, our worship team provides an atmosphere of worship to help you transition from your hectic morning to a readiness to connect with God.
We like to begin the service with a welcome time to greet and make connections with those around you. After the announcements, we sing a blend of contemporary and traditional songs to worship God and prepare our hearts for the morning’s message. Our pastor will teach from the Bible; applying the timeless principles of God’s Word to situations we face in everyday life. The entire service usually lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes – depending on how long-winded our pastor is!
What Should I Wear?
Wear whatever makes you comfortable: suit and tie, jeans, dresses, shorts, t-shirts. Come as you are – well, within reason!
Will I Have to Do Anything, Say Anything, Give Anything, or Be Singled Out in Any Way?
No! We are a friendly bunch here at Bayside, and we would certainly like to get to know you, but you are not required to do anything that is out of your comfort zone. We used to have first-time visitors sing a solo but we rarely had second-time visitors, so we decided to end that idea. (JK!)
What About My Children
You are welcome to keep your children with you during the worship service, but if you prefer, Bayside offers wonderful nursery care for infants and children up to age 4. When you check your children in at the nursery desk, you will receive a number that corresponds to your child’s nametag which ensures that you will be the only person they are released to after the service. We also have vibrating monitors upon request to signal you to return to the nursery if you are needed. Children who are 5-years-old through 3rd grade participate in the service along with their parents until the singing has concluded and then are encouraged to attend our Children’s Church program during the pastor’s message.
We also provide nursery care and classes for all ages during our Christian Education Hour beginning at 11:00am.
Aren’t I Too Old for Sunday School?
We believe in the importance of a comprehensive education and training in God’s Word and the application of it in daily living. Therefore, we offer Sunday School and Adult Education classes for all ages. Our adult class, Digging Deeper, centers around a discussion of the morning’s message. Grab another cup of coffee and an extra cookie and join us for some great discussion and challenging insight in a casual setting. Classes take place from 11:00am to noon each Sunday.
